Literature Text
Have you ever thought about a purpose of life,
and if it exists, an afterlife?
You know there is more than TV
and no need to love the media industry
I know, a purpose is hard to find,
but just keep this in mind:
Ignorance is a high price,
Take it or refuse
Is it so hard to decide?
Do I really have to mention
that there are other dimensions
to think about life
and how to use your mind?
You refuse and rather be blind
But have you ever tried?
Do you have a clue?
Do you know what to do?
All men and women of history
tried to solve the world’s mystery:
What’s the purpose of life?
What’s the purpose of my life?
So please don’t be scared
and don’t become exasperated
‘cause everyone has to decide
how to live and all has its price.
So try to break the border
and think about all orders.
Just listen to your heart
Question and criticise
You just have to start.
Ask yourself: Who do I want to be?
And what to others expect of me?
But in the end it only counts
What is important to you.
and if it exists, an afterlife?

Letting the Past Die
Letting the Past Die
11/4/18
The past—everyone says to let it go
Despite being its present descendants
And resulting culminations—echoes
Pictures paused, prompting pensive reminiscence
And subsequent self-reflection. It stores
Memories fleeting adrift in oceans
Flooded from the stress of living life coursed
In cutthroat waters, chasing promotions
Or raises—hooked as soon as we taste it
Just once. While revisiting my past, I
Recovered fragments, memories lost in
The growing countless chapters cast aside
Ignored: old friends, faces I'd forgotten
Unclaimed treasures of moments I’d have cherished
Forever had I known what

And Just Like That Letting Go Feels So Much Easier
There's something life changing in the way you tap your pen against the desk.
I'm not just saying so to sound poetically nice on page,
but because with the click of your pen meeting wood I can see myself on the other side, being caught in your gaze when you look out over your glasses.
I see myself telling you how annoying it is.
You sticking your tongue out and laughing.
I would say it not because the sound drives me crazy,
but because seeing you laughing does.
When I say something as small as a nervous tick is life changing it's because I can feel you changing my life.
Even in the small moments.

What we used to have
Those eyes, those attractive features...for two years he had haunted me wherever I went, and now he was standing before me – alive and well. Five long years, and yet those five years had barely touched his outer appearance. He reminded me still of the youth I met back then, when we could have been something called friends, instead of strangers with some memories. While not scrutinising him, I did take my time taking in what I recognised and what five years had changed in the one who mustered me as well. He was still pale, under his eyes the signs of his insomnia could be seen even after all this time. The biggest change was his snakebite piercings. A wry smile, and I then wiped sudden tears aside, the moment I noticed the one feature that caught my eye five years prior. “Still liking the emo-style I see.” A pale smile, and he then shook his head – the fringe of his dark hair fell further into his eyes and his fingers then tugged at some of the strands, a bit self-conscious it

Maybe some of you will wonder, why the last two lines do not rhyme and I actually did it on purpose. Because I met many people who cannot and maybe do not want to think out of the box. So the end should tell you as a reader, to break orders and question everything. Of course, I don't want to tell you to break laws or commit crimes. Now, I just want to let you think about the purpose of life and that sometimes rule are there to be broken.
Sometimes you have to start something new or to see things in another perspective, to find more about yourself or to learn something. You have to go inside of yourself and ask yourself, what is really important to me?
I hope you can understand what I meant and maybe my poem could make you think about life.

That's really good, letting people know that you shouldn't follow something blindly. And I guess that can relate to you're poem Understanding one another. You could be an atheist or a Christian, or follow another religion, but in any case, it's fine to occasionaly question you're beliefs, it doesn't make you a bad person. In fact, the more you learn, the better you can understand what you believe. And that, is something you can apply to pretty much any aspect of life.
